“There are a lot of people who wanted to see this happen for a long time,” he said. “I think if they keep putting these containers where there are high volumes (of users), it’s going to make a definite difference.”

Although this project has little documentation, it was the intersection of art, media campaigns, community engagement, and political lobbying that concluded after two years with the implementation of pilot 24-hour outdoor sharps containers around the City of San Francisco.
